Hamdard of Pakistan

One of the most well-known Herbal Healthcare brands of Pakistan that has also earned its name by often providing philanthropic services, Hamdard has been serving many for more than a century. Whenever I think about childhood, there’s always a fragment related to one of Hamdard’s products or to the homely feeling they bring. The evenings spent reading Naunehal (which greatly improved my Urdu reading and writing skills), the Ramzan where we couldn’t stop chugging down Rooh Afza for iftar and the unforgettable days of getting a good beating from ammi whenever I didn’t finish my Ispaghol! Hamdard has always been in parts of our lives, sometimes without us knowing so.

I personally believe for any brand or organization to stay valid, it must connect with its audience on a deeper level by constantly reinventing itself. Hakim Saeed Awards that took place on 23rd January ‘18 did this job for Hamdard. Was genuinely curious about it. (Because a week back, Hamdard’s Rooh Afza was given a revamp using new, exotic flavors and the results had come out positive.) The event kicked off at Mohatta Palace and it’s safe to say that it looked absolutely wondrous!

The first change to be seen was that of the logo. From this to that. The simpler the better.

A new TVC was released and damn is it feelsy! Will surely take you down a memory lane.

Our national heroes were given tokens of appreciation and honor for their tireless efforts. Dr. Adib Rizvi, Dr. Atta Ur Rehman, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, Anwar Maqsood, Sister Ruth Lewis, Amjad Islam Amjad, Mr. Masood Ahmed Barakati, Sarfraz Ahmed, Bushra Rehman and Aitzaz Hassan Bangash were all presented the Hakim Saeed Award for different categories such as Health and Social Services, Education, Art and Culture, Literature, Sports and Bravery.

The event was attended by many known personalities with Governer of Sindh as Chief Guest. The event was wrapped up with a soulful  Qawwali Ishq Pakistan that gives an extra patriotic touch to Hamdard.

  1. I can so relate to your experiences with naunehal, ispaghol and rooh afza. I heard Mr Masood Ahmed Barkati took over Naunehal after Hakim M Saeed was gone. Now he’s no more either but I do hope you saw the spirit of Hamdard living on tat night in Mohatta Palace
